Mr3020 boot up time
February 10, 2015 11:09PM
Hello,
So I just made my first piratebox and the auto install was nice and easy. After putting around 25 gb's of files and videos in my shared folder booting up my piratebox is nearly impossible. The WPS/reset light will just keep flashing and if it does manage to boot up it goes back to flashing within a minute. Is this just due to have too much data on the usb drive?

Hi,
are those files big files or alot small files with folders?
During startup a cleanup script starts. This script:
- removes 0 Byte files
- Files starting with tmp*

And after that in each folder a copy of HEADER.txt and README.txt is placed for the directory listing.

If you have the minidlna daemon running, it can slow down the boot as well, when those files are a lot of video files, because it creates an index..

If you have alot of folders this can have some performace impact in boot-time.
