Reconfigure/modify piratebox

Hey everybody,

Thanks to all for a great project!

I'd like to 'play' around with piratebox to reconfigure/modify it (change html, remove chat options, rename ssid). Basically make something new (Using a Pi3) but using the offline filesharing capabilities of piratebox?

I'm new to it all and just wanted to ask where I can start for modifying/messing around with. Should I experiment on the github of the project (which would probably be beyond my capabilities tbh) or can I install it on pi and go from there (ssh into it and modify from 'there')
