[Solved] Permission denied

Someone please help.

Two years ago I had PirateBox up and running with a number of little tweaks. Today I stumbled across my MR3020 and upgraded it to the latest. Everything seems to be working well as far as basic functionality so I want to do some of the basic tweaks again but am hitting a wall.
Change the SSID

root@kHhTaAzU:~# /etc/config/wireless
-ash: /etc/config/wireless: Permission denied

guess not
What am I doing wrong, what am I missing?

Too tired to have been working on this and just forgetting a little vi.
