My "best buy hint" for outdor fun is:

Battery charger case:
[j.mp]

Batteries for this pack:
[j.mp]

Payed about 18 EUR for both, together.

That'll do it, all right.

I'm working on my power supply guide. The last section is going to conclude with 'buy one of these, because you can't build one.'

Sometimes it's better to buy something already well done by someone to reinvent the wheel. The prices of most of the pieces I've published are relatively economical and also have been well qualified by previous buyers. Really is very important to have the knowledge of how to build a very good source for well to have criteria to buy a good power source. Thanks to all for posting their findings.

Please check these new routers and old ones with excellent prices.....

A lot of those parts are completely unsuitable. Either the wrong output voltage, or rated for currents far, far greater than a piratebox needs.

I'm building my firs ever PirateBox and would like answers to the following questions:

I have bought the MR3020 router and am looking for a good battery source for it. What's the best one that is compatible with my router? I ask because I want to place my router in a box as well and make it mobile.

2. Can I use a 1 TB external HD instead of a USB flash drive? I want more space but don't know if this is possible.

Any response is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, should work. But you are limited by fat32 ... and 4gb filesize
Thanks guys this has really helped me out. I now feel more confident knowing the specs of the hardware I'm going to need. I'll be posting pictures of my finished PBox soon.
Btw Matthias, when you say "4GB file" do you mean that any file that I want to upload to my PBox cannot exceed that size?
Re: Posibilities of Better Hardware
June 21, 2013 10:51PM
Thats correct my friend .....
But why put that large file to download in Pb if the person who discharged it would take a lot time and would consume the limited resources of the router ... In my PBs i just put files not larger that 50 Mb
Well I'm planning on using my PBox for educational purposes. I intend to provide them access to educational media in the form of e-books of a variety of genres, documentary films, music etc. Of course, not all of it will be educational just a good chunk of it will be. I hold a strong relationship with them so I'm sure they'll be interested to learn about PirateBox this way.
By "them" I mean the youth in my coummnity.

exact. it is a limitation by FAT32

You overcome this issue, if you splice large files into ie. 50MB chunks, like on the old days of emule. winking smiley
