How is the lighttpd version going?
May 08, 2012 08:07PM
Hi,
on my box it is already working quite fine.
I still need some feedback of test-users.

The following stuff is currently untested:

# Very Upgrade Steps (Migration of uploaded content to unsorted folder)
# Check the issues with DNS&Gateway stuff

Which worked fine for me:
# Basic Upload
# Shoutbox (seems to be a bit slow sometimes... should be replaced with better JS version)
# Imageboard
# Browse and Download
# iOS -Mod works well
# "active" Directory functionality of Droopy
# Python Forum (forest) (not included language integration)

Hi,
I uploaded the new versions to my webserver today.
I sent the link to pabell for checking my upgrade howto.

In this release contains the following features:

* Switch to lighttpd instead of severall python scripts
* Mimetypes are configured
* Upload Folder moved from PirateBox/Shared to /PirateBox/Shared/unsorted (content has to moved manually) *
* Shoutbox (can't be disabled via piratebox.conf anymore)
* iOS - success Message -
* Optional Upload into (secured) folders -- ( config via piratebox.conf )
* Optional Disable Chat reset via piratebox.conf
* additional install-able python Forum forest
* additional install-able imageboard

* I'm currently thinking about the "Shared/unsorted" folder-stuff.. maybe I should change it again.
no unsorted folder anymore. Changed back.

What do you think?

Changed directory handling... there is no "unsorted" folder anymore.

I'm sorry for this change in so short time.. but I overthought the thing and came to the conclusion, that It would be a lot better to change this stuff.. It was a concept I followed in the early days of imageboard-version and easily adapted it without thinking about side-effects.

There is now the following folder structure

/opt/piratebox/conf - configs
/opt/piratebox/bin - binarys
/opt/piratebox/init.d - start-stop procedures
/opt/piratebox/www - Webserverfiles
/opt/piratebox/share -> linked on OpenWRT to /mnt/usb/PirateBox
/opt/piratebox/tmp -> some tmp files

Mainpage -browse- is linked to ./Shared (like the pre-lihghttpd folder )
Droopy upload gets into /mnt/usb/PirateBox/Shared on default
imageboard stuff is located at /mnt/usb/PirateBox/board
tmp-upload folder is /mnt/usb/PirateBox/tmp (needed for uploads via lighttpd)

I know there is a lot of attention about it...
Because it is a big changing release, I'm waiting for tester's feedback before I release it completely
