Would it be useful?

I assume, currently the "plug&play" issues are resulted in a static value in mount configuration with filesystem-type "vfat".

I'm interesting to learn more about that I would to make a piratebox from scratch without using piratebox package and after step 15 USB isn't detect in /dev 

opkg update
opkg install kmod-usb-uhci
insmod usbcore ## may return: file exists
insmod uhci
opkg install kmod-usb-ohci ## may return: up to date.
insmod usb-ohci
