Edited [www.piratebox.cc] to reflect this.
[root@alarmpi piratebox]# apt-get update
-bash: apt-get: command not found

Any thoughts? Tried twice

Edit: just realized that this is now an arch image, wasn't the old one debian? Ir not then maybe I did it from source on raspian last time.

Nope, all RPi images since PirateBox 1.0 are ArchLinux based.

The versions before 1.0 (over a year now) are raspbian based.
I moved to arch, because raspbian delivers so biiig image files (containin alot tools), that it would be wasted traffic and disk space.

Yep..blonde moment thanks smiling smiley I had made my first from the tar
Good morning , I do not understand .

In the torrent.zip file there are 2 files , one file.zip and one file.image; copying them into che sd card the raspberry do not start.

I tested also manual extraction and copying them into sd card but nothing.

Why ?
zip itself is called ArchLinuxARMv6-2015-06_PirateBox1.0.2_rpi_1.0.5.img.zip and contain file image called raw_arch_image_file.img

But if you copy it into your 8gb sd card and put it into Raspberry pi, it don't work, don't start, don't install... only rgb screen is displayed.

No one say why. We are waiting reply...

you need to use the DD utility (or something similiar for windoes) to write the "raw" file to the SDCard.
You find additional help here - Installation -step 2 . We have different howtos for different OS linkes.

Do you have raspberry Pi 1 or 2?
did you extract the image file before writing it?

The magnet link appears to be broken. Or is that just me?

Problems with the magnet link = 'magnet:magnet:' one 'magnet:' is enough; someone could please correct this on the link(s)

I'm having issues with the image though. The file downloaded ends in .img.zip and when I unzip it, it has no file extension. I added .img so that Win32 Disk Imager (that's right, you don't copy/paste the image file, you 'burn' it to usb because it's a disk image) would recognize it, but my pi just shows a red light and the screen stays on the rainbow image because it won't boot up.

Hi,
I'm sorry for that ongoing magnet-link trouble I fixed it several times, it seems there is a bug in dokuwiki when you re-edit the page, the link is malformed, so it ends up with two magnets after saving.. I need to hunt that down later.

File endings, well, it is more like a Windows problem. I address this.

@Problem: is it a Raspberry 1 ?

But you could join testing the new RC => [forum.piratebox.cc] This has an image for RPi 2 and we need testers for those.
Perfect! I am very new to this so bear with me haha. I did the Manual install first and had it up and running but ran into problems when trying to change ssid and simple commands that people had posted online. I would run into statements telling me i was not authorized to do things so I figured I would try the arm build. I will definitely report my findings because the piratebox project has gotten me very intrigued.
