Crash of Pi zero W when downloading a huge file
February 01, 2019 10:21PM
Hello,
After a little search, I don't found this topic on the forum.
I put some huge file (2Gio) on the µsd card, and tried to download them from the piratebox interface. When I do so, the load of the pi grows up (cpu usage from kworker service), and then it reboots immediately. I don't know if this is a know limitation, and if there is any solution.
I don't really know arch, if I should post some log, please tell me where to find it.
Thank you for your help.

No, there should be no limitation... and I am wondering about that behavior.
Which PirateBox version do you run? the latest?

I use the latest image designed for the Pi zero (February or May 2018). Actually I think it is a power supply failure. I use a cheap 2.1A wall-wart, it should be sufficient, but it fails when I download a too huge file (>300Mcool smiley. I tried with another PS and it works... I had another problem: when I plug a USB WiFi dongle, the Pi reboots too. I will try with another PS too for this problem.

Thank you for the answers.

Hi,

when I plug a USB WiFi dongle,
this sounds for 100% like a power supply problem.
