Can't find my piratebox after adding wpa
April 21, 2019 04:49PM
After putting wpa on my piratebox and rebooting my piratebox disappears from my Wi-Fi gui (whatever it's called I forgot)
What do I do?

WPA should work without an issue, are you certain you made the changes correctly?
Can you maybe try to go back to an open network and see if it is working fine again?

I assume you were using https://piratebox.cc/raspberry_pi:mods#enable_wpa_for_the_hotspot, correct?

Ubuntuhak, playing and tinkering with Ubuntu!

Same problem here... ich tried the Settings using (https://piratebox.cc/raspberry_pi:mods#enable_wpa_for_the_hotspot) and also the advices in the hostapd.conf:

Quote
interface=wlan0
driver=nl80211
ssid=SSIDofTHEnetwork

channel=1
#auth_algs=1

# Remove # to enable n wifi mode
#ieee80211n=1
#wmm_enabled=1
#ht_capab=[HT40+][SHORT-GI-40][DSSS_CCK-40]
hw_mode=g

# Put a # in front of the following line to allow
# direct client 2 client communication
ap_isolate=1

# Uncomment the following lines to enable WPA
#wpa=2
#wpa_key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
#wpa_pairwise=TKIP CCMP
#rsn_pairwise=CCMP
#wpa_passphrase=PASSWORDofTHEnetwork

I uncomment the last 5 lines... and the Wireless Network disappears..
(Edit: Raspberry Pi 3 cool smiley
