Images for all the Raspberries are available as torrent.

If you have an RPi 2 or RPi 3 get the following image:
Language: HTML
magnet:?xt=urn:btih:4dc1584e4f86bf2e8723098537b76bdfc657b411&dn=piratebox%5Frpi2%5F1.0.7-2.img.zip&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.piratebox.cc%3A7070&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.coppersurfer.tk%3A6969

If you have an RPi 2 get the following image (use for RPi in case you have problems with the one above):
Language: HTML
magnet:?xt=urn:btih:80f5af0817417c5072c3f57d5e39dc86113c4793&dn=piratebox_rpi2_1.0.7-1.img.zip&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.piratebox.cc%3A7070&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.coppersurfer.tk%3A6969

For all other RPi's use this image:
Language: HTML
magnet:?xt=urn:btih:66fa61ac1e819aa0a5a8497e31f42e211e99d80d&dn=piratebox%5Frpi%5F1.0.7-1.img.zip&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Fpiratebox.tracker.deusexmachina.org%3A7070&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.coppersurfer.tk%3A6969

Please keep one seeding once you have the image.

In case you are running into problems getting into the swarm, make sure you have encryption enabled in your torrent client - a lot of people have this enabled by default and reject unencrypte peers.

In case you have issue with downloading the meta-data using the magnet link, you can use the following torrent files:

RPi1/RPi-Zero
piratebox_rpi_1.0.7-1.img.zip.torrent

RPI2 only
piratebox_rpi2_1.0.7-1.img.zip.torrent

RPI2 & RPI3
piratebox_rpi2_1.0.7-2.img.zip.torrent

I would just like to say thank you for the image. It works effortlessly on my Raspberry Pi Zero.

I copied the image onto my SD card and put it in the Pi Zero with usb wifi adapter and a fat32 formatted USB drive. But it doesn't broadcast an SSID. Also, it's a Pi Zero, so I can't ssh into the Pi unless I can connect via wifi. The instructions did not mention anything about requiring a USB ethernet adapter to access it. Is that going to be my only option here?

You could try the fallback mode and enter network informations on the file on the boot partition of the sd card.
This is most probably because your wifi stick does not support AP mode or we do not support your wifi stick.
Please also tell us which WiFi stick you are using.

Also you should be able to connect via serial, so no need for ethernet ;-)

thanks. It's a TP Link wifi adapter. It does work as an AP as I have set it up in the past via hostapd. But I do not know how to gain ssh access without wifi or ethernet. How could I ssh via serial? Thanks
There are no seeds for any of the images. Where can i get a copy?

thx, DM

Changed the default tracker to something different.

That reduces some issues during torrent kickstart

Added links to Torrent files, if meta-data download takes ages again.

Ok. I'll make a backup before to restore them later. Thank you for your quick response Matthias. A big thank you to all those who advance the project and improves it.
For the Raspberry Pi Model A + no second usb port already used by the wifi so using shared the microUSB can you give me the command line to get the rights to delete the files in shared FTP?
thank you in advancesmiling smiley

There are no seeds the RPi1 torrent. Is there another place to get this image?

I'm pretty sure there are 12 seeds for the RPi1 image and my seedbox alone uploaded it over 500 times.

Please double check your bittorrent client.

Could it be the sha256 for the pi1 is not correct anymore?

This is what i get: sudo sha256 -x Downloads/piratebox_rpi_1.0.7-1.img.zip
Enter passphrase:
5863d12c816ff07841faf58603f45f20cc7adbaffdebb579a9da921a1384b018

I run it on a xubuntu 16.04

Thanks,
peter

-rw-r--r-- 1 108 114 547395988 Mar 9 19:43 piratebox_rpi2_1.0.7-2.img.zip

And this are the files on the other seedbox
$ sha256sum piratebox_rpi*
ls -ln pira*

-rw-r--r-- 1 117 121 547395988 Mar 9 07:56 piratebox_rpi2_1.0.7-2.img.zip

double check your downloaded image file, seems it broke during download.
Any seeders for the Raspi 2? It says 4 Seeds but never downloads anything.

Hello-

I installed 1.0.7 via Ubuntu and the install went very well. The wifi adapter works seamlessly and I can connect and upload and download files. However, I cannot SSH into the PB to do the extra steps, set up a USB drive for storage, etc.

alarm@alarmpi and alarm@alarm do not work. I just get the "cannot resolve hostname" message. Did the name and password change?

I'd really like to get this set up, as it's for a school teacher to share and store the kids' 3D design files, so storing them all on a separate USB stick would be great so that he can curate it easily. Thanks for any help.

Hello,

that error is retuned when you try to ssh into a pre-defined host, but the IP address doesn't match/exist on the network.
Do you have the host properly configured in your /etc/hosts file?

Try,
ssh alarm@192.168.1.1
(I'm not sure what is the IP of the raspberry by default, I suspect its 192.168.1.1. Also, if the username should be "alarm" by looking at the raspberry img file)

Whoops, got it to work, thanks.

For some reason it only lets me ssh when I'm connected via wifi, but not by ethernet cable. alarm@alarmpi does work after connecting via wifi. Got the USB drive option activated.

This image for the original RPi doesn't seem to have a package manager (apt/opkg/yum). It is supposed to?
Transmission can't find any peers for the RPi 3/2 image, any advice?

The image is archlinux based. The package manager is named
pacman
Good afternoon, I would like to try this.
Just a question, me having a Raspberry PI3.
Since the pi3 comes with built-in wifi, I will need to get the USB Wi-Fi Adapter any way ?
Or will work with the built-in wifi?
Thanks.
