OK, that is interesting,...by stylesuxx - PirateBoxes on OpenWrt - unsupported
Yeah, I compiled kernel and rootfs,... settings and patches backported from their CC image builder. This should produce the exact same image for AA as it does for CC. Not sure how good the qemu support is,... generally it is a pain in the ass, so I guess I'll simply flash it and recover from serial if something goes wrong,... which I expect anyways ;-)by stylesuxx - PirateBoxes on OpenWrt - unsupported
Jep, and because init has been changed in CC in such a way that is not compatible with our PirateBox scripts, had a discussion about this with Matthias yesterday - if anyone is interested in the (german) log of this discussion I sure can post it. But it seems I got the Backport working - at least it is producing an image. I will flash it today, or tomorrow and keep you posted.by stylesuxx - PirateBoxes on OpenWrt - unsupported
So you did not backport to AA? In this case, people please do not flash this stuff...by stylesuxx - PirateBoxes on OpenWrt - unsupported
How did you build this exactly? Is this based on CC or AA?by stylesuxx - PirateBoxes on OpenWrt - unsupported
Woops, I did not note this,... must have happend in my dream then. Thanks TheExpertNoob :-)by stylesuxx - PirateBoxes on OpenWrt - unsupported
That indeed sound very interesting and doable. In fact I recall reading about someone doing this somewhere here in this forum. I'll add this to the list.by stylesuxx - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
You are building from your own branch, right? Because I did not merge your changes to the RPi build scripts yet...by stylesuxx - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
Hmm interesting idea. But I do not now how applicable that ist. As you say, the PB would need to be connected to the Internet once in a while to get updates. Was trojan distribution via PB a problem you ran into? Also I do not know if it wouldn't just be easier to plug the USB stick into your Box where you have your AV running and check it that way. Or simply disallow upload of files with ceby stylesuxx - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
Did you configure it via Webinterface? If so I guess it would be cool to post some info about that too.by stylesuxx - PirateBoxes on OpenWrt - unsupported
Alright. As most of you know, my zsun's arrived today. Just got brideged mode working - basically the same procedure as with mr3020... Also if you already flashed the custom FW, you can easily go back to factory mode in case you fuc*ed up your network config by simply putting in the SD card while the zsun is booting - just wait until the LED starts blinking, then push in the SD card, afteby stylesuxx - PirateBoxes on OpenWrt - unsupported
You are welcome - this is nice to hear :-)by stylesuxx - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
I can not imagine Matthias having a problem with us discussing Robot Arms, in fact I think he will join us when he is done with work, but yeah - IRC may be the better place :-) See you on the flipside :-)by stylesuxx - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
This can be easily argumented: "Imagine all the time I save with this robot arm, this is time I can spend with you. *" * Not mentioning the time first needed to get it fully configured and set up. Also you can print the components,... so if the arm itself is to expensive you've got an excuse to get a 3D printer.by stylesuxx - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
Exactly. The SD card is connected via card reader to the build system. Once the build is dumped to the SD, the Arduino deactivate the USB lines, and instead activates the lines from sd to the RPi's SD contacts and power cyles the RPi. This should be easy to realize with a couple of transistors. Although a robot arm for switching the SD card would also be cool :-Dby stylesuxx - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
Matthias already mentioned it in the channel, we need automated builds, should not be too hard to accomplish. But what I also want would be an automated testing rig: Image is build and dumped to an SD card, after that the SD card reader is deactivated and the data lines are re routed to the RPI, RPI is then powered on. After bootup is done, a Phone connects to the RPi and executes its test Harby stylesuxx - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
Just copy/paste the output of the commands and upload them to a paste serviceby stylesuxx - PirateBox OpenWrt
Yeah, that conversation happend 5 mins ago or so. You need to idle a bit in IRC, different time zones, work,....by stylesuxx - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
Cool, in fact Lars came up with the solution in IRC, I just relayed it :-)by stylesuxx - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
Do you by any chance have a custom name server enabled in your network configuration? If so please disable it.by stylesuxx - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
Oh man, you are teasing me, still waiting for mine,...by stylesuxx - PirateBoxes on OpenWrt - unsupported
If it is a range extender, it just connects to the piratebox network and extends it, as far as I see this does not involve the PirateBox at all. Maybe try a WiFi stick with integrated antenna first before investing in a range extender,....by stylesuxx - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
Was it working before the changes? Just set everything as you have, rebooted the box and everything is working as expected. Is it working with any other domain, try when connected to the PirateBox network.by stylesuxx - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
Hey Lars, package handling in Arch is actually pretty easy, the last RPi Image was my first more "intense" contact with Arch and it all worked out. You can also drop by in IRC if you would like some real time assistance for whatever. From what I read we should be in the same time zone ;-) Greetz, Chrisby stylesuxx - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
IIRC I have read something about someone attaching it to a Drone, not sure where that was though. Waiting for my zsun stick, this should be light enough to transport it with my mini drone :-)by stylesuxx - PirateBox (General)
Awesome thank you. This should be added to the official repos: * The service file and the actual script should be added to this repo to the rpi folder * The packages should be installed via package install script here => this is also where we should load the needed modules * Enabling i2c and attaching the RTC should be part of the MOTD You can submit PR's for this if you like,by stylesuxx - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
Serial console pinout for MR3040 can be found here => under "Serial console"by stylesuxx - PirateBox OpenWrt
I would like to see a small API, this was mentioned in another Topic already. I would like to have an endpoint to query available files on the PirateBox that simply returns some JSON containing, filename, size mime type and URL to the file. This way we would enable people to easily write Apps utilizing the PirateBox functionality. So far I only know of this one guy who would benefit from this,by stylesuxx - PirateBox (General)
We started a wish list for the RPi over here => Soon the topics got a little mixed, therefore I am splitting the mentioned topic into this here. This topic is meant for brainstorming ideas for the next release. It is open for everyone, so if you want to see a specific feature in 1.0.8, post it here. This discussion will be open until a certain point. At that point all features are freezedby stylesuxx - PirateBox (General)
Looking forward to it, keep us posted.by stylesuxx - PirateBox OpenWrt
