Someone gave me a 3220 and I put openwrt on it but when I tried Piratebox it didn't work, it showed openwrt as wifi but PB wouldn't do it's thing. I tried to reflash back to original factory image and ended up bricking it. I THINK the 3220 openwrt does not work with PB, though I think the 3420 does. Someone that knows something will be along shortly.......by Derek - PirateBox OpenWrt
Great! Ok, that was my concern. So theoreticlly I should be able to put my 3040 Piratebox on the o2air-ac (or any other stonger router) to increase the amount of users being able download at faster speed... If that is not correct, please let me know. Out of curiosity, how many people do you think could download at about 2-3 mbps with a 3040 and a 1000 megabyte router? Thank you and hopeby Derek - PirateBox (Development)
Ok, thank you Matthias. Just to let people know, I don't work for anybody, it just seems like such an awesome machine that I would like to use it in my own PB network and maybe it could be used by others. Regards to all, Derekby Derek - PirateBox OpenWrt
If anyone can answer this, please do. I feel bad for Matthias having to do answer everyones small questions all the time. In this scenario, the PirateBox takes over control of the IP distribution of the network. The ethernet connection is fast enough to serve the data in a speed, that might exceed the limits of the MR3020/USB combination. I guess, that wifi is still the limitingby Derek - PirateBox (Development)
Thank you Mr. Matthias. Sorry to be pushy, I thought there would be others around. I suppose life is busy. They seem to be a small establishment and perhaps rather unknown. I live in Central America so I am not familiar with their US popularity. I have used their equipment in setting up a small internet network between points of about a 1/4 mile away. They've always been helpful. Iby Derek - PirateBox OpenWrt
Yes, Thank you. I will have to think about what you said. When I had the piratebox on the n600 router network I saw it was still transmitting but didn't know how to turn it off. I don't know if it could be accessed as I was playing with the access control of the one it was connected to. I seem to remember it couldn't... In the other thread I asked about installing Piratebox oby Derek - PirateBox (Development)
First off, I don't know much, but I am looking for something that can handle some high load, but am wondering how much this machine could handle. There is another they sell similar that they say has 1/2 mile radius, this seems to be a improved version. It says it can be flashed with openwrt, can PB be put onto it? I bricked a device using an openwrt that wasn't supported by PBby Derek - PirateBox OpenWrt
