Hi Matthias, I reinstalled the whole system and started from beginning. I got the same results on my MacOS but I found some hints in the net about the captive portal feature in MacOS: Quoteapple.stackexchange.com whenever OS X detects a captive portal, it opens a WebView popup window QuoteMathias Bynens Apr 6 '12 at 5:53 That’s the thing — whenever OS X detects a captive portal, itby BlueSpider - PirateBox (Development)
Hi Matthias, thank you for your feedback. I modified the box a bit including hostname, WiFi SSID and the strange behavior is not repeatable I renamed the host from piratebox.lan to box.lan Is the captive feature bound to the hostname? It is now possible to resize the window and I don't get the introduction text before using the web at all. There is no captive feature restricby BlueSpider - PirateBox (Development)
Feedback for OpenWrt version on GL-iNet - Kahera board had to be installed manually as written in the other thread MT300A + chat post were possible from multiple devices - file upload did not work as expected from MacOS using Safari or Firefox (the dialog did not open) + file upload worked from iPhone reboot + WiFi is available + Connection could be established - date did not matchby BlueSpider - PirateBox (Development)
Hi Matthias, since the auto_flash feature did not kick in, I thought that I might have downgraded my GL-Init sometime in the past and tried to install the firmware update manually. As a result I got a login prompt with the hostname LEDE and from the log I got the message there was no auto_package folder to be processed. The previous run had some errors but renamed the auto_package directoby BlueSpider - PirateBox (Development)
Hi Matthias, thank you for your quick reply. This is the result: root@piratebox:~# . /lib/ar71xx.sh root@piratebox:~# ar71xx_board_name gl-inet Regards Michaelby BlueSpider - PirateBox (Development)
Hi Matthias, I tried the setup several times but I always end up with an empty /opt/piratebox folder. After my first attempt I noticed that there was still the old web installed on my GL Inet and so I decided to start with a fresh usb stick only containing the auto_flash and the extracted install folder from the openwrt link in this topic. After booting the GL Inet with this configurationby BlueSpider - PirateBox (Development)
Ok, I found the difference between these two which is basically the flash size. Since the old gl-inet-v1 image from 2014 was 16 MB in size, I think it is save to use the 6416A image for my GL.iNet. Regards, Michaelby BlueSpider - PirateBox (Development)
Hi Matthias, I just wanted to give this version a try, but now I found two different images for my gl-inet-v1 and I don't know which one to use or how to identify the correct version. I used to go with gl-inet-v1 but now there are versions for (6408A-v1 and 6416A-v1) and I don't want to brick my device. Any hints? Regards, Michaelby BlueSpider - PirateBox (Development)

Hi, it would be great to have a forum placerholder page with the message that the forum is not configured yet, or to disable the forum button until kareha is configured. Currently you will see an directory listing which is confusing. Best regards, BlueSpiderby BlueSpider - PirateBox (Development)
Hi Matthias, I want to create the Image for raspberry pi 2 and need the sources for the prebuild packages in order to build them for ARM7 architecture. You mentioned at the pirateboxcamp that there are several binaries which needs to be compiled for ARM7. Which one? Regards BlueSpiderby BlueSpider - PirateBox (Development)
Hey Matthias, David and Robert (correct me, if I'm wrong), thank you for the great time in Berlin. The project is cool and I love the ideas behind it. Michaelby BlueSpider - PirateBox News and Events

Hi fostejam, it seems your start wasn't a great experience at all. The piratebox for raspberry pi was developed long before we all know about RPi 2 and there was no reason to place a note beside the download instruction, it would only work with older Raspberry Pi. The ARCHLinux Version we use is made for ARM v6 CPU only and will not work with the new ARMv7 CPU which is used in the new Rby BlueSpider - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
As zebul666 wrote in another topic, there was a permission issue in the old image. The piratebox configuration requires that minidlna has at least read access to the files you upload using droopy. Both services run with different accounts (minidlna and nobody) which prevents minidlna from accessing those files. First solution could be to change minidlna to run as nobody.nogroup as well, buby BlueSpider - PirateBox (Development)
Hi, this version contains a paramerter for chmod, no hardcoded permission required. github droopy master I don't know why we have our own version. Maybe we could adapt to a more current version? Regards, BlueSpiderby BlueSpider - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
Hi, just to let you know about it. I added your patch into the current image. Thank you for your support BlueSpiderby BlueSpider - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
Hi, if I want to buy a device for just one use case like the piratebox, I would go with the tplink solution. Quick start and you don't need to think about linux distributions, which wlan dongle to use, ... On the other hand - I like to do all those experiments and to tinker with raspberry pi boxes. I wanted to know how to setup a raspberry pi cluster and learned how to do it. Later Iby BlueSpider - PirateBox (General)

There are two folders with ownership nobody.nogroup: /opt/piratebox/tmp /opt/piratebox/share I modified the permission of the tmp folder to 777 and noticed the owner of the sqlite file was minidlna.minidlna. This means, the permission was correct but ownership did not match the configured minidlna service in /usr/lib/systemd/System/minidlna.service This file is in the pacman package andby BlueSpider - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box

Hi, I tried your steps on my raspberry pi. My configuration might be different because I moved /opt/piratebox/share/Shared to my external usbdrive. Hi, there is a new image for raspberry pi: This image contains the image board which was missing in the previous one. LINK DELETED - found some bugs in my Image. This ArchLinux Image does not run on my Raspberry Pi 2, but it works on older versions. My upload bandwidth is very poor, so please seed the file during and maybe even after downloading the torrent.
