Hi Everyone, Just a quick note to say THANK YOU to Matthias. He has been extremely generous with his time and expertise over the last few years and the project couldn't have moved forward without him! The code is now at a stable state and most of the key features of the project have been implemented and fully tested. I think it's fair to say that we've accomplished most of theby darts - PirateBox (General)
@csolus - this is an interesting idea. A few quick comments... RetroShare allows you to connect with other peers connected to the same local network (LAN) which means you could use a PirateBox to host an offline network (this is already what it does) and then connect with other peers on the network who are running RetroShare on their devices (e.g. running on their notebooks). @risca, thanks for sharing your experiences with the PirateBox. As Matthias mentioned, you're welcome to change the SSID (wireless network) name to something else. This page on the wiki will teach you how. You're not the first person to raise this question about the provocative nature of the project's title. oWo, there's no question that anonymity on wifi has limitations and we definitely welcome the feedback (and ideally code improvements and bug fixes!). In the interim, I've removed the word "completely" from the PBx description as I agree that anonymity in this case is relative. Dartsby darts - PirateBox (General)
