Looks to me like you connected the TX of your adapter to the 3.3V of the router board instead of the RX pin. Also I'm not completely sure why you changed the pinout, but the info you striked trough was correct. If you get a lot of garbage like that, most commonly it is the incorrect baudrate or that the ground pin doesn't have a good connection. It is a large gnd plane, so make sby FriedZombie - PirateBox OpenWrt
Currently the piratebox doesn't support ramips devices, at the moment only the ar71xx devices are. About the bootloader being a security risk, not really in my opinion. sure you can alter the bootloader of the device directly from the firmware. But with that partition locked, you could still write to the firmware partition itself. So that is an much more interesting target anyway. Tby FriedZombie - PirateBox OpenWrt
Well the mr3040 does have a tiny reset button though, you could use that to get into failsafe mode:by FriedZombie - PirateBox OpenWrt
Sounds nice Mastr I try to be here this time. Not sure if I could make it. But for sure will tryby FriedZombie - PirateBox News and Events
I am going to organize an PirateBox workshop at the hackerspaceTkkrLab in the Netherlands on Saturday the 10th of January 2015 For more information see the TkkrLab Piratebox workshop(nl) wiki page Edit by Matthias ~ Jan. 5th 2015: I just got informed by #TkkrLab, that the workshop have been canceled. too badby FriedZombie - PirateBox News and Events

Nice hak5 video with a drone and a pineapple router strapped to it. But a blimp does need a sentential size to it t stay afloat, also keep in mind that it costs power to keep the thing from floating away. Because i don't think it would be tethered to the ground. Funny blimp, barely able to carry any weight. great toy to pester the cat with though. This one has just enough lift toby FriedZombie - PirateBox (General)

No that is not possible, also the low orbit satelite use a different technique all together. (just a simple data stream one way communication instead of two way communication). Of course it would be possible to just multicast data, but there is no client that would understand it out of the box. (neither for outernet.is for that matter).by FriedZombie - PirateBox (General)
By default the button doesn't do anything under openwrt and you need to write a script to add that functionality. <-- tutorialby FriedZombie - PirateBox OpenWrt

If an user set a fixed dns server in his configuration, the user can't find the piratebox. You could opt for the option to redirect all dns traffic to the pbx Simply add the following rule to /etc/config/firewall config redirect option dest_ip '192.168.1.1' option src_dport '53' option name 'dns_pbx' option target 'DNAT' option proto &by FriedZombie - PirateBox OpenWrt
That list is very incomplete, I usually look in the openwrt download dir because of that. but if it runs dd-wrt and it is not yet supported under openwrt, chances are big that support can be added openwrt relatively simply. I would call it captive portal detection, see also The reason that it is forced to the success message, on ios the piratebox becomes unusuable otherwise.by FriedZombie - PirateBox (General)

If you want you could reflash it back to the original firmware, but to be honest I would finish the project because you are not that far of. The reason is that you ran into this error is that you copy and pasted/typed the example instead of changing it to your needs. Also it is not hard to correct and there are a lot of great people around here that can help you out with that. (also don'by FriedZombie - PirateBox (General)
No that is not possible, if you redirect the traffic from 443 to 80 you would get a ssl handshare error. And if you stick with port 443 and offer a certificate the browser will tell you it is a fake one. Irritating yes, a solution alas but no.by FriedZombie - PirateBox (General)
Identical file you posted without comment lines: http://sprunge.us/KOaV Because of missing context on what device you are talking about, I asume it is your home router Otherwise the post is incorrect. The breaklog doesn't provide any information, the warnings are from some double declared require_once or include_once statements. Pretty common in larger php projects and are not really regarded as errors. Also the problem on is similar. Also what version of cops are we talking about? and what exact url throws the error? It is doable setting up a live stream with a webcam on the pbx, but due to system requirements it is possible. But the quality is 640x480 about 30fps in an mjpg format. (higher res = lower fps). The mr 3020 just delivers barely enough juice to power some webcams adding a usb stick into the mix will push it over the edge. So you really need a powered hub. Well seing the default hostname the box currently has, I starting to think you probably currently have DD-wrt installed. Also I would urge you to install the wr703 firmware only and not the one for the mr3020. To be certain if you are on dd-wrt enter the following command: cat /etc/motd And see if it exists and if it does, you are on DD-wrt that is not the same as OpenWrt. I was thinking about creating a simple PBX installer that flashes the router to OpenWrt and provisions the usb with choices made in a graphicall installer. I am aware of piratebox 2.0 auto installation, but this way it would be a bit more graphical and clear what is happening. Anyone has some good ideas to add to this?by FriedZombie - PirateBox (Development)
Since the current Liveusb is somewhat outdated, I thought maybe to create a new one. But what distro should it be based on? I personally like Debian to be honest. Also should it have a graphical interface or just a plain cli type thing that you are greeted with a piratebox menu? I thought about using something simillar toby FriedZombie - PirateBox (Development)
I don't think anyone tried, but if the WiFi enabled hard drive can run Openwrt there wouldn't be any technical difficulties to make it work. Only a small modification to the installer script nothing more.by FriedZombie - PirateBox (General)
Did you download that image directly from OpenWrt? or a different place? Also what is the full name of that file? there are two variations.by FriedZombie - PirateBox OpenWrt
The wr702 will never be properly supported by OpenWrt/piratebox. The reason for this is it simply doesn't have enough ram and flash memory to run properly. If you buy a chinese langauge wr703 it is fine, because you are going to flash it with a different (and english) firmware anyway.by FriedZombie - PirateBox OpenWrt
Small script on your request, it disables the wifi when you plug in the wan interface and re enables it when you pull the ethernet cable. I put it on a pastebin clone for easy installation. To get that function on your pbx, make sure you have internet and execute the following command: Language: PHPwget -O /etc/hotplug.d/iface/30-wifiTogle http://sprunge.us/MiLA And to remove the script aby FriedZombie - PirateBox OpenWrt
