It is worth a try.
changing the timestamp can be done with:

touch /opt/piratebox/www/chat_content.html

I just found the exact same problem after setting up my first Piratebox on a TL-MR3020

After seeing your last post, I noticed that the time shown was wrong (showed as 10:30 am, real time 12:30).

I went back by SSH with putty and set the time again.

Afterwards, the chat updated properly.

Where I have to write this? I am not a programmer but I like computer stuff. I make 2 Pirate Box already on MR3040. Lucky me I bricked one and fixed it. But this issue with the Chat no refreshing is driving me crazy. Please help me with this issue.
