3.14rate box setup issues

Yo, I'm new, and I'm also having problems with setting up piratebox on one of my raspis.

I tried to give it a go on the older 256/B pi, but when I start piratebox it just seems to crash, and I can't connect to the wifi adapter. Using the 512/B model, it seems to work.

Is it just the case that piratebox doesn't work on the 256 models?

I assume it depends on the wifi adapter and it's power usage.
I'm using a 256MB model for testing, so this can't be the issue. Didi you try to use the Pi with an additional powered USB hub?

Well the wifi adapter is the TL-WN722N, one of the recommended adapters. And the only other things I have attached is the USB storage (just a stick) and the power. Nothing else is attached.

Obviously it's not a big issue, as the other one works fine, I was just wondering if anyone knew what the problem was.

maybe the usb storage combined with the wifi stick is the problem.
Did you try to run it without the stick?

Did the ssid apear at least once after startup?

Yeah I ran it without the stick, and it's still the same. and no, there wasn't any SSID

Crazy. Can you try to test the wifi connection with a 2nd device, while you check

journalctl -f

with the first computer connected via wired ethernet to your PI ? (or even check it at the tv screen)
