SSID visible but can't join, "DHCP Lookup Failed"

Hey all,

Setting up an MR3040 and seems like things were going OK so telnet'd in and set a root password. I must have jumped the gun because when I went to switch over to the Piratebox SSID for post-install steps, it wasn't there

I waited awhile and it did show up, but when I try to attach to that WiFi network, I get "DHCP Lookup Failed" from my Chromebook, and my iOS devices just sit and spin the wait cursor trying to join.

Did I bork something logging in during setup and setting the root password, or do I just need to be more patient and wait for the install to finish? If the latter, how do you know when it's done?

Hi Jason

How I did it was put my cell phone in WiFi mode and just looked for the Share Freely Network to appear.
It does that twice the second time you see it appear wait another 10 min at least and your gold if it don't
go away after that.

I waited awhile and then power cycled it, then waited some more, and it seems to be operational now.

The forum returns an index of its files instead of a web page, but I'll look into that separately.

To fix that index thing just

Point your browser to "[piratebox.lan]; for the first initialization while connected to the Share Freely Network.

That will fix the index problem.

As per Post-Installation step #4 Use that address not the piratebox.lan
