My box right now has a bunch of information about the pirate box project, and sources of information about how to make one, and usefull scenarios the box could fit into.

this is mostly due to the fact that my box was made for a school project, and I will probably add more stuff after i am finished presenting it.

will add more files like tor and other software office isp is blocking my access..

School stuff. I'm in engineering classes, and there's a lot of information to get to a lot of people. So instead of playing the whole game of "Do you use DropBox? Google Drive? SkyDrive? Do you have a USB on you? Did you bring your laptop?" I set up the PirateBox, and they take it however they can--laptop, phone, or tablet.

Mine has a list of movies that changes from time to time ( space issues so there are purges at times).
A large list of computers books ( about 100 gbs) that has almost every computer book you can think of that we call the piratebox library. C.E.H. v8 with tools. Whatever is requested by people. Also I do some computer related news on it as well as a tee world server. Flash game section that I at times change what game it is.
Mind you, my box is a old labtop that has a router all converted for the piratebox.

Since that post, I've re-installed PB and changed a lot of things. Sorry, but I do not have those flash games anymore and I can't remember how I got them. Really sorry!

I have been setting up various linux distros on box along with install instructions.

these distros are:

Debian
some Ubuntu variants
a few distros known for being light weight.
Arch Linux
dsl
Puppy Linux
Linux lite
Bodhi Linux

I also have a random assortment of books and music.

I'm an old retired guy who likes to go on cruises. When you're at sea for days and the Internet is 80 cents a minute and slow, there's certainly a niche for some free (as in beer) connection even if it's to someone a couple dozen meters away. Given the large number of Kindle Paperwhites and Fire ebook readers visible on the pool deck and library, it seemed like a good idea to include a lot of ebooks since they're small.

Just because people take a lot of photos aboard and on the shore excursions and lack an efficient way to share them with their newfound friends, I offer a space to upload photos and include my pictures (which I place in the public domain) to get folks started.

Results are mixed. The geeks get it, others think it's something ominous - even though I renamed the SSID to ShareBox. I figure my target audience isn't the people who think their Paperwhite will get a virus from a .mobi file.
