RaspberryPI 1 based image for testing

Hello all,
I'm sorry, that there is so less support from the team currently. BlueSpider, who wanted to take over the work, is in a deep dive into private issues.. and as I mentioned earlier, I'm covered with alot of work, too. sad smiley

I overworked our buildscripts and the development tutorial for reproduce the images. The process is now much smoother, but still not RPi-2 compatible... but I'm getting closer now to reuse the workflow for the RPi-2.

For now, the focus is to bring an updates version of the image & fix the installation documentation. As some of the users already recognized, the root-user is not usable anymore via ssh, this is why I changed the documentation and the installation path.
I also adjusted the documentation to the latest new features of 1.0.6...

Also the problem of missing packages for the imageboard should be solved.

On the buildscripts-repository, you find the latest changes in the development branch... because this is the testing image. The MOTD fixes aren't pushed, currently.

If you interested in testing this image, please Post into the thread. I'll send you the download link via PM. Sorry, for that additional loop, I don't want to publish the image now. Because I want to know, if the Pi-Zero works and I haven't forgotten something.

What should be tested:

- Does the installation tutorial fit? [piratebox.cc]
- Does it work on RPi-1 A -> B -> B+ and Zero ?
- Do the postinstallation steps work?
- Does the imageboard work now?
- Does the timesave work.
- Does uploading work?

If you do a test, try to cover some of these steps and report these back. Just give a short summary, what you did, and if you have an error- try to reproduce it and copy the command's output to your post.

best regards
Matthias

I'll gladly test it. I have a RPi Model A+.

Royt got a PM yesterday.

It would be cool to get some feedback, and from other people too. I don't want to have stupid bugs like "missing packages causing imageboard to not work " in a stable release again sad smiley ,
because it is always some effort to publish images via torrent and recreate images that are in error.

I fixed the link again, sorry. It seems there is an issue with docuwiki.. :/

The link is really a "testing-only" image. If you know how to do linux commands, do some debugging if something does not work as expected, I can give it to you. I see you are freshly registered, that is the reasong why I'm asking.

Matthias,

I am fairly new to Piratebox but not to Linux.

May I have a link to the test image to try on a pi zero?

Thank you.

I don't send out new links to fresh request, especially if they are not registered in the forum.

Just for the statistics:

PMs sent: 4 (or 5)
Feedback got (users): 1

I'm working on the feedback I got so far.

Well now that I have managed to get an unofficial Raspbian PirateBox image built, I'd like to switch to help out with the official and better my Arch skills.
