TP-Link TL-WN722N woes
January 08, 2018 02:07AM
Let me start by saying I have a raspberry pi 1 b+ I want to use with the aforementioned wireless adapter. In piratebox the adapter is recognized as a device but the light does not come on and obviously no AP is generated in raspbian stretch or whatever the newest one is called the light comes on and the device recognized but inoperable in the os in no network seen and no interfaces detected. The wireless device does work in Windows.

How old is the WN722N? Which version is it?
Version 2.0 is not supported, see here Wifi compatibility list

It's the newer one that's unsupported. Is there any guide to making it work??

Yes, the newer one is not supported because TPLink chose a crappy chipset.
No, there is no working tutorial. I started to create one, because the same issue is on the musicPi project... but the howTo never worked out well.

Sorry,
best regards
