Problems with redirect and lighttpd missing?
February 25, 2018 09:15PM
It was a few days ago I last used my piratebox and the redirect was working. I just had to type in my domain blackbird.lan or ahgkndakhn.com or some random address in firefox. Now I boot it up to upload some pages to it via ftp in filezilla and the redirect no longer works. It's not just that, either.. for some reason my lighttpd.conf in /opt/piratebox/ is just blank at 0KB. So I try uploading a backup of the original one and it asks me to overwrite. I click yes. It asks me again. I click yes. It asks me one last time to overwrite and I click yes. I refresh the directory where I uploaded the original lighttpd.conf and it is still just the empty file with 0KB. I've given myself proper perms to do these actions in that folder.

Could my redirect and domain not be working because of lighttpd.conf..? I am using an SD card with 32GB and it is not nearly close to being full. I only have some webpages on it since my first flash.

If there is any other information you need I will be glad to post it. I hope this is not too vague of a help question.

EDIT: I also tried it on my phone and same redirect problem.

Hi,
I am wondering why lighttpd is having a 0 Byte config file.

I would recommend to reflash/reinstall piratebox, because you can't know exactly which files are missing as well.. that problem can be a result of a corrupt/defect SDCard.

best regards Matthias

Hi, I did what you suggested and re-flashed my Piratebox image. I think it was a good idea to start fresh as I edited a lot of files I should have probably never touched in the first place. This time I have done almost no modifications and setup my box the way I had it before all customized how I like it. It took a lot less time and there were a lot less headaches.

thanks for the response.
