Read-Only Root Filesystem?
October 25, 2018 02:29AM
I've got my PirateBox up and running, thanks to everyone who worked on the project. It is fantastic, and working flawlessly. I'm using a RPi0W.

Has anyone thought about setting it up for read-only root fs? It would not need a shutdown button, and could be powered off on a whim. I was looking at this version of RPi linux: [www.arbetsmyra.dyndns.org]

Anyway, just wanted to see if anyone is exploring that, if not, I might give it a try.

I would say you can make the the root file system read-only in /etc/fstab.

I am not sure how this would impact the chatbox function.
