Note: as of january 2018, this TP-Link TL-WR1043ND v1.8 works again as a PB. The issue was not hardware related.

After doing these steps, the USB blinked for 45 min until I off/on the router. It seems to me that with this new build, USB is not working or PirateBox does not install (how I did: I have copy the new install in the USB device, powered on the router, power off, power on in rescue mode, flashed the firmware, rebooted. I am interested to test a new build. This blinking gives a bad idea about the lifetime of the USB key, so fixing it may be useful.

There are some things not obvious to me in the page: Can we use the same USB Key (with the old files and folders of PirateBox) for upgrading ? Do we need to remove the folders 'external_fs' and 'install' ? if so, when ?

I don't know how to install a additional software tool to monitor the softwares disk activity, but i have find this way to check the general disk activity : cat /sys/block/sda/stat ( ). After playing with the command: echo "1" > /proc/sys/vm/swappiness with 1 and 10 as values (and waiting 10 minutes between tests), I do not see any change, the USB key is still blinking very fast (maybe 4 times / second). Something else is accessing a lot the USB key, any idea about how to get more infos ?

Sorry, I forgot to say that I have not done the 'Post installation' steps ( ) : Kareha and UPnP are not running. The USB key ("TOSHIBA TransMemory (1.00)", 32 GB, USB2) is blinking every second, like there was a heavy read (or write) activity. The normal behavior when plugged to my computer is no blinking when the USB key is not active. Any comment about the 32 MB vs 64

I have finally succeed to install current Piratebox package with current Piratebox-OpenWRT. I do not know exactly what has changed, I have reformated the USB key. There was once a issue with the Ethernet cable (1 time on the back of the router, I had to unplug-replug it) and I had sometimes to unplug-replug the Ethernet cable to my computer in order to let it 'see' (ping 192.168.1.1) th
