- apparently it uses a crappy realtek chipset which can be used with the rtl8188eu driver I'll test in a bit and see if I can get it working.by kenshen - PirateBox News and Events
If it'd be possible to get the wireless device I mentioned earlier to work I wouldn't mind testing it for you.by kenshen - PirateBox News and Events
It's the newer one that's unsupported. Is there any guide to making it work??by kenshen - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
Let me start by saying I have a raspberry pi 1 b+ I want to use with the aforementioned wireless adapter. In piratebox the adapter is recognized as a device but the light does not come on and obviously no AP is generated in raspbian stretch or whatever the newest one is called the light comes on and the device recognized but inoperable in the os in no network seen and no interfaces detected. I guess when I said the popular protocols I was just reading your post above an some other threads about how not one protocol serves all issues surrounding but beyond that I totally get what your saying. So batman is already preinstalled I actually didn't know that huh. Well thanks for being so open to suggestions :-) is there anything I can do to help you guys / this project?? I'm notby kenshen - PirateBox (General)
I was thinking that pirate box would be a great way to start a newb friendly mesh network or at least more newb friendly then following the long complicated list of steps to install cjdns Batman etc from scratch. I imagine IT Billy down the street being able to easily mass produce these for his neighbors because A. Pirate box is already very Node like in configuration in the sense of it essenby kenshen - PirateBox (General)
Sort of I was thinking about pre packaging the most common / popular protocols as optional installable packages that are pre configured ie. When I ssh into pirate box I see a list of commands that I can run to enable optional features for piratebox like the image board etc. It'd be nice if there was a mesh network option on that list that allowed me to select from a list of popular protocolsby kenshen - PirateBox (General)
So have you guys thought about building it into pirate box? A mesh protocol I meanby kenshen - PirateBox (General)
It's been years since I've been on these forms and I'm glad to be back. I want to set pirate boxes up as nodes and was wondering what is the best protocol / back end to use for piratebox?? Cjdns Batman Babel or something else?? Also is there a good guide I can follow??by kenshen - PirateBox (General)
