I'm about to put mine hidden in a display at the front of my retail store, which is in a shopping centre. There's a few eateries in close proximity, all with their own "Free WiFi", increasing the odds someone will find my box. For now I've loaded it with a few PDF's, music tracks and other tidbits. It'll be more or less a long-term experiment to see how othersby MonCapitan - PirateBox (General)
A few years ago I went to Japan on a budget airline (read: no in-flight entertainment). I had the foresight to take my PirateBox (renamed WiFiLibrary), an MR2030, 500GB portable hard drive and a 11,000mAh power bank. The drive was loaded with PDFs, anime, movies and music. Mainly it was for myself, but if anyone else found it then it was a bonus. During the 9 hour flight, so many people connectedby MonCapitan - PirateBox (General)
Good day to you all! I have recently started messing around with PirateBox on the Raspberry Pi 3, and everything is going smoothly, except for one small thing. When the Pi installs and boots, the default storage area for Shared is the SD card. When I log into Putty there are a few suggested commands, including a shell script command to move Shared and the Board to an attached USB drive. Thiby MonCapitan - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box

+++Warning: Long post ahead+++ I took my WiFiLibrary (renamed PirateBox) on multiple international flights from Australia and Japan (Sydney, Cairns and Tokyo airports. This was very fortuitous, as I was flying JetStar to Japan (budget airline, no in-flight entertainment) and many people on-board made use of all the movies, PDFs and anime I had loaded on the 500GB drive, with many people commenby MonCapitan - PirateBox (General)
OH MY GOSH! I'm such a dunce... You know when you can't find something, and as soon as you open your mouth to ask for help, you see it? That's what happened here... There is a hash # at the start of the use constant CAPPED_TRIPS line. Once I saw that, it worked out. Now the line reads: use constant CAPPED_TRIPS => ('!5RRtZawAKg'=>' ADMIN','!!by MonCapitan - Mods and Themes
I've been going through what I can find, and dedicated hours (and beers) to trying to figure this out. From what I can see, this line is what I'm after: #use constant CAPPED_TRIPS => ('!!example1'=>' capcode','!!example2'=>' <em>cap</em>'); # Admin tripcode hash, for startng threads when locked down, and similar. Good evening (or morning) all, This has probably been covered, but for the life of me, I can't find any mention of it. I have just installed v1.0.7 onto a MR3020, and am configuring the Kareha board. I want to have a tripcode / passcode so that when I post in the forum, instead of "MonCapitan !KjgbjRVFJBY" (or something) it shows "MonCapitan ##Admin##", so that no-oneby MonCapitan - Mods and Themes
G'Day all, I have a PirateBox on a MR3020, and I am looking to upgrade the firmware to the latest version. Only trouble is, I don't know what version it is to begin with (1.0 or earlier?). Is there any way to check what version of PirateBox is installed on my MR3020? Is it in a file I can SSH to or something?by MonCapitan - PirateBox OpenWrt
No worries. I'm not an expert my any means, but I'm happy to help in any way.by MonCapitan - PirateBox OpenWrt
I always logged in using WinSCP in SCP mode, not SFTP. root@192.168.1.1 User: root Pass: whatever you chose during setup It gives me an error message, but it can be ignored as it doesn't seem to have any effect.by MonCapitan - PirateBox OpenWrt
I uploaded a screenshot of the index.html to tinypic, although I don't know how long it'll be there for... Also it appears that the "Thanks" button is being squashed when viewed on a laptop, doesn't happen on my android tablet... Strange...by MonCapitan - PirateBox OpenWrt
Hiya fulk0520! I'll outline the way I did things. I'm certain there's lots of other (possibly better) ways, but this one worked for me. I am using a T-Link MR3020 with a 16GB USB Flash Drive (I have since upgraded to a 500GB USB-Powered External HDD). For the setup I used a laptop running Win7 and WinSCP. After following the standard setup procedure for the PirateBox 1.0, I loggby MonCapitan - PirateBox OpenWrt

Good evening (or morning) all, I am in the process of turning my MR3020 from a "PirateBox" into the "WiFiLibrary" (a little less scary-sounding). Everything's going great, changed the index, images and stuff, except the Shoutbox (chat window). The first thing that pops up in always: "PirateBox: Chat and share files Anonymously!" Is there some way to changeby MonCapitan - PirateBox OpenWrt
