Hello Matthias can you help me to understand something. I'm not a Linux programmer I'm still learning about all these commands. But what does the dd command do on the piratebox?

I'm sorry let me rephrase this. What i mean is like a redundant raid Sd card so if one dies i can have a type of backup. That can automatically copy from one SD card to another. So if the main SD card fails, Dies or something happens. The backup SD card can take over. Is this possible? Joseph

What i mean Say i upload a file or image to my box. But also have it copied to the other SD card as a backup So really have two Pirateboxes linked together. In case one failed i can have all

Hello is it possible to make a dual redundant Piratebox? What i mean is if my main Piratebox crashes or i lose a SD card I can have a backup to replace and not lose files?

Only thing i changed was change anything that was piratebox.lan to piratebox.com That was all. Oh and deleted all the files from the content folder then uploaded my own webpage. I did get php working.

I can ping and that is great at least that is working. So what i did was clear all my cookies and cache from my browsers and tried again. And to my luck nothing. No or or all pages can not be displayed. So this is what i did. I have another blank micro Sd card a 8gb not a fast one a class 4 card i loaded piratebox image on it did the same test. Clearing I'm still new at this and forgot the sudo part. I did get a reply from it 64 bytes from piratebox.lan (192.168.77.1): icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.113 ms

How do you ping a address like google.com If the device is not on the internet? I did try to ping it just to see what it does and i got back ping: socket: Operation not Permitted.

Hello i understand now about the https secure stuff but what about a non https say like intervisionradio.com if i type in www.intervisionradio.com or internetvisionradio.com nothing happens Same thing. Even if i type in or We get the same problem. No page can not be displayed.

And if they connect to the wifi and go to the browser and type in www.google.com or even google.com They should get redirected to the piratebox.lan webpage correct? I was looking at some youtube videos about Fake Access points. And one thing all of them had was If they type in google.com or facebook that they was redirect to a ip address. Could that be done too?

This is what I'm confused about. Say If I'm the end user I know nothing about Piratebox at all. And say i connect to the piratebox wifi. What is suppose to happen? I would think that i would type in a address like facebook or Google and even something like yahoo website page. But when i do Nothing happens Page can not be displayed. But i wouldn't know to go to piratebox.lan addres

Hello i have tested changing the piratebox.lan address to a piratebox.com address and it does work. Reason is because most people are use to typing a Dot com address and not a Dot lan address. So my next Question is there a way if i type in google.com or msn.com it can automatically redirect to the piratebox address? The thing is when i type in www.google.com or www.msn.com it says Page ca

But is it possible to change the Piratebox.lan address to a .com address like yourwebsite.com would it still work or would it need to be a .lan address? Hello i put a 8GB class 10 card in my Raspberry pi and installed Piratebox now working. When i go to the site it says 68% full and 32% free. When i put a 16GB class 10 card in there I'm getting the same thing on the page 68% full 32% free. So i tried a 32gb Class 10 card i get the same thing 68% full 32% free. I don't know why is this. hello i finally got the piratebox working. I even can get SSH to work. I did have the wifi working But when i rebooted Wifi USB stop working. I don't know what to do i tried everything I even reimage the sd card and nothing can someone please help me? I know the adapter works because i can plug it into my laptop and it comes up. it is a tp-link wf2116 with a realteck chip set rt18192cu.

Hello i have a raspberry pi zewro board. I also have a adapter from micro usb to full size usb. I also have a usb to Ethernet adapter I'm installing piratebox on it. I did all the updates on it But i would like to hook up my Wifi adapter on it So i was wondering If i plug it in will it see it or would i have to do something before to make it setup? I do not have a usb hub so I can not use mu

Hello i saw you could use php in the active PHP This mod requires PirateBox 1.1. PHP should be ready to run. To activate PHP on PirateBox, you need to edit /opt/piratebox/conf/lighttpd/lighttpd.conf and remove the # in front of the last line: #include “/opt/piratebox/conf/lighttpd/fastcgi-php.conf” And this is great first step for me. Hello i was wondering if it is possible to for good remove the Readme.txt and header.txt from the Shared folder? when i stop the Piratebox and Delete the Readme.txt and Header.txt then i restart the Piratebox service back up them two txt files come back. Joseph

Hello TheExpertNoob thank you for the message back. The 64gb was partition for exFAT i didn't do it for that is how it came from staples store new. Okay so Can you help me out and tell me what Steps do i need to take to setup the flash drive what partition i need to do and how i can set it up i think i might be going it wrong. So i can move the shared files over to the Sd card?

When I'm doing the commands i got to sudo mount /mnt/usbdrive i got a error on it. mount: special device /dev/sda1 does not exist? also when i get to sudo mv /opt/piratebox/share/Shared /mnt/usbdrive i get this message mv: ‘/opt/piratebox/share/Shared’ and ‘/mnt/usbdrive/Shared’ are the same file. Not sure what to do?
