compatible to OpenWrt yes, but to the latest versions. PirateBox stable is running with an OpenWrt version from 2012 (AA). And between AA and the latest release (CC) from 2017 alot of changes were made and we need to adjust several things to get our software working again. The development version does support that device , but this version is kind of unstable best regards Matthiasby Matthias - PirateBox (General)
Hi, on RPi: yes, that should be possible.. still a normal Linux on OpenWrt: maybe more difficult. best regards Matthiasby Matthias - Mods and Themes
Sounds strange, did you use the ESC key to cancel your "i" - edit session? Do you think/feel it more like an issue with Putty or in general with your OpenWrt box? best regards Matthiasby Matthias - PirateBox OpenWrt
Not myself. Currently I do not own a RP3B+ . There might be a chance that the existing images are working, but I won't bet for that.by Matthias - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
Hi, yes it is free for any use. best regards Matthiasby Matthias - PirateBox (General)
Like a live video feed. Why not, but we do not have a howto for that. So you need to figure it out yourself ;-) best regards Matthiasby Matthias - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
Yes, but we do not have any admin interface for deleting files ..yet.. :-(by Matthias - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
I do not understand the question. If you do the "board-autoconf.sh" step, then you are SETTING the password for the imageboard. If you used an USB stick for your files, then the imageboard from before the update is restored (and the old password is valid) best regards Matthiasby Matthias - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
Hi, you can always refer to OpenWrt - Hardware Recommendations. The only model on this list which is currently supported is the AR150. For the next PirateBox version, the range will be larger again. best regards Matthiasby Matthias - PirateBox (General)
Hi, How to change hostname on Laptop/RaspberryPi best regards Matthiasby Matthias - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
Hi, you are talking about client isolation. Just do this mod: RPi - Disable client isolation best regards Matthiasby Matthias - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
Hi, Quotenoticed the chat gets dumped on shutdown The shoutbox is written to disk and you can disable the reset of the shoutbox in piratebox.conf. The files are persistent as well, you need to delete them for yourself from the shared folder. As in this version, the user is not yet allowed to delete them, the command would be like sudo rm /opt/piratebox/share/Shared/<myfile> Theby Matthias - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
Hi, as long as you do not have the Shared folder on the USB stick, it is a bit difficult to delete files off from the box. The reason is, that the Shared folder is created and written by a different user then "alarm". You need to login via SSH and run the following command: sudo rm /opt/piratebox/share/Shared/IMG_20180301_080111.jpg With the next PirateBox version we are goingby Matthias - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
Hi, that totally looks like the firmware flash did not work properly. Unfortunately it is not possible to story the error log of the responsible script. The install log says, that all packages are already installed. You have three options: a) We debug this issue with a bunch of manual steps, and find out the root cause b) You chose to make the short update with "/etc/init.d/pirateboxby Matthias - PirateBox News and Events
Ah, maybe the SDCard share script is stumbling over something in some cases. Mh! Doing a proper format is always an option, but you can try to run into the same error as before and we can try to fix that bug/issue in the corrsponding script Best regards Matthiasby Matthias - PirateBox News and Events
Hello PirateBox-fellowers, puh. Sorry, I wanted to avoid another 1.1.4 and push 1.2 out of the door.. but my freetime is so much restricted since September last year.. I decided to give 1.1.4 a chance ;-) It is a pretty long list including lots of contributions. Work on 1.2 (or maybe a 2.0) is still going on- refer to our development subforum. We also published our project goals in Januarby Matthias - PirateBox News and Events
Try to avoid 8192eu as well. The 8192cu will likely work out. But the AC usb support won't come with 1.1.4 , which is already finished. I am doing the final tests for now.by Matthias - PirateBox News and Events
An alternative is, that we are looking into the newer AC adapters .. and make use of one of them. BTW: The other adapter listed in our "compatible wifi adpater" list, are still all available on amazon.com. Anyway. I found some other smaller issues during reviewing the changes around the image creation & WiFi support. I have to rebuilt the complete set of RPi images.. bby Matthias - PirateBox News and Events
Hi, well. I tried to get the adapter working as a AP for about one working day now: - Tested the stageing driver in linux-raspberrpi kernel $ uname -a Linux alarmpi 4.14.21-1-ARCH #1 SMP Sat Feb 24 02:25:08 UTC 2018 armv6l GNU/Linux => Module does not provide the nl80211 compatible driver . Extra hostapd is needed - Running with => /prebuild/hostapd/hoby Matthias - PirateBox News and Events
Hi, I am wondering why lighttpd is having a 0 Byte config file. I would recommend to reflash/reinstall piratebox, because you can't know exactly which files are missing as well.. that problem can be a result of a corrupt/defect SDCard. best regards Matthiasby Matthias - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
this happens if you activate HTTPS on PirateBox. IOS devices do deny all access to such a page where the certificate does not match the url (and is self signed). Delivering let’s encrypt certs mean, that you have to prepare new images very 3 months. If somebody pays me a bunch of money, I’ll do that... but it is unrealistic in a one person project. Did you try to use such a cert on your Piby Matthias - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
I am trying to add the dkms based driver..by Matthias - PirateBox News and Events
Hi, if this is the new wish by alot of people.... Per default, the RPi Piratebox does not route between its wifi network and the ethernet Port. On this topic I already described the changes on OpenWrt, which partly applies here as well for the RPi. The question is, which resolv.conf is valid. In addition you need to configure the kernel to do packet forwarding: persistently enable Kby Matthias - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
The adapter looks ok to me. Are your settings for the connection correct? Quote The right settings for accessing the serial console are as follows: Bits per second: 115200 Data bits: 8 Stop bits: 1 Parity: None Flow control: None If that does not work, try to power your mr3020 from your computer / or not. Check that GND wire is working correctly. That would be my next stepsby Matthias - PirateBox OpenWrt
The hostname configured in piratebox.conf is automatically generated as a static hostname. You can add additional static hostnames with adding them into /opt/piratebox/conf/hosts The syntax is myhostname.lan 192.168.1.2 The changes are activated after restarting piratebox. best regards Matthiasby Matthias - PirateBox OpenWrt
Then, you need to change the dnsmasq configuration of piratebox. 1. Edit /opt/piratebox/conf/dnsmasq_default.conf 2. remove the lines #dont use resolv.conf no-resolv #dont recheck resolv.conf for changes no-poll 3. add resolv-file /tmp/resolv.conf.auto (resolv.conf.auto is written by the WAN connection). After that run /etc/init.d/piratebox restart Now, it sould work likeby Matthias - PirateBox OpenWrt
Either PirateBox or Route Wifi traffic. With a working internet forwarding, the "redirect all" feature of PirateBox will not be working. We also have several work-arounds active, which are in conflict with normal internet routing. You can play around with the that command , but at the end PirateBox will not forward needed DNS requests from wifi clients.by Matthias - PirateBox OpenWrt
Ok, bigger update on this: I changed the image creation for RPi, that a separate user&group "pbxuser" is created. The user has sudo permissions. The default alarm user is disabled, but can be activated later (using passwd). The root user is still active. During login, the user has to set a new login password for pbxuser. After that, everything is a piece of cake ;-) Droopy &aby Matthias - PirateBox (Development)
you can memorize dd as "disk dump" , which you can use for creating 1:1 copies of disks (from or to a file or a disk). This is the common tool to write linux images to the SDCard. best regards Matthiasby Matthias - Raspberry Pi(rate)Box
