Thanks for posting your experiences. I am sorry, that I can't give you the needed support for the things you want to do. Since three years, I nearly have 0 time to invest in my free time. If you want to enhance the documentation, you can get account details for the wiki. The registration is not open, because I don't want to fight against spam at the wiki and protect the content.

Technical, the infrastructure (IPv6 Backend via BATMAN-adv) can be setup and get it working. But, there is no application working across the mesh network.

syslog is not stored between reboots. while being active, you might peek into "sudo journalctl"

Yes, you can add folders, no you cant let them upload into specific folders. You can create a "upload" folder and move the files by suffix automatically with a regular running script.

yes, possible, because the memory of the openwrt devices is limited, because of this less caching can happen.

Mh, too bad it bricked your installation. The pyForum will be removed in a future PirateBox version anyway.... especially if you wand a more responsive version, you need to modify the PirateBox yourself. Sorry for the bad news

IRC server needs to be enabled via /opt/piratebox/conf/piratebox.conf You need an extra IRC client on you computer to get access to it. If someone will put some effort in it, it might be possible to get that running on the RPi. (it runs on nodeJS)

That sounds strange, but there are a few differences between LibraryBox and PirateBox: - PirateBox is using a webserver based , more like static, HTML directory listing - LibraryBox is using a php based directory listing including download counters, which are pulled in from a sqllite db. Download speed for content should make no differences, because both are handled by the webserver direct

The ZeroW won't work on the RPi 3B because the RPi 3 is a different architecture then the zero.

No, no official way. Only hackerish and then upload does not work across the network. The better solution would be the IPFS route, that you have two independent systems, which sync up after meeting. So you "talk" only to your local node, which is much more efficient. Mesh is only providing a infrastructure for synchronization.

You need to make sure, that not the inbuilt Wifi is working, but the Alfa. Did you changed your configuration after adding the new wifi adapter?
